MOUZ edge The MongolZ to reach the 2-1 pool in Bucharest

MOUZ got past The MongolZ in a close two-map series to improve to 2-1 at PGL Masters Bucharest 2026. PR’s impact on the CT side proved decisive, especially on the second map.

MOUZ edge The MongolZ to reach the 2-1 pool in Bucharest

MOUZ kept their PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 campaign moving with a hard-fought win over The MongolZ, taking a 2-0 series that was much tighter than the scoreline might suggest. The victory lifts MOUZ into the 2-1 pool, while The MongolZ are left looking for two more wins to stay on track in the event.

The match turned on MOUZ’s ability to stay composed after a difficult stretch on Nuke. The map began with MOUZ in control, but they allowed The MongolZ back into it after a series of messy rounds, including an anti-force loss, a 5v3 dropped after Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás’s game crashed, and a lost 3v1 against Yesuntumur "nin9" Gantulga. The Mongolian side also enjoyed a remarkable run from Anarbileg "cobrazera" Uuganbayar, who found a kill in eight consecutive rounds.

PR steadies MOUZ on Nuke

Even with those setbacks, MOUZ did not let the map slip away. The decisive moment came at 9-10, when Oldřich "PR" Nový’s hold on Ramp helped halt The MongolZ’s momentum. From there, MOUZ recovered and closed Nuke 13-10.

That turnaround mattered because it showed MOUZ’s ability to absorb pressure rather than unravel after a few lost rounds. In a close map, that kind of response often decides whether a favorite survives or gets dragged into a decider. Here, MOUZ found the right answer at exactly the right time.

PR carries his CT form into Mirage

Mirage followed a similar pattern in scoreline, but not in the flow of rounds. MOUZ were more stable on the second map and avoided the kind of round losses that caused problems on Nuke. They were also much more convincing in the gun rounds, which gave them room to control the game.

PR again stood out on the defensive side. He opened Mirage with a 14-1 kill-to-death start while anchoring B, and he finished the series with 30 CT-side frags and a 1.74 rating across the two maps. That level of impact made him the clear difference-maker in a series where neither team was able to dominate for long stretches.

By contrast, Sodbayar "Techno" Munkhbold struggled to match that influence. The stats also underline a difficult patch for The MongolZ, who are missing Garidmagnai "bLitz" Byambasuren and Usukhbayar "910" Banzragch. Their absences made the task even harder against a top-four-calibre opponent like MOUZ.

What the result means for both teams

For The MongolZ, the loss is disappointing because a win would have pushed them up to 12th in the VRS and strengthened their case for future invites. Even so, their position in Stage 2 of PGL Major Singapore appears safe for now.

Their immediate goal is more practical: collect two more wins and reach the playoffs at a notable event for the first time since Bounty Season 2 in July. That would better reflect the progress shown by the new lineup and give them a result to build on.

MOUZ, meanwhile, are one win away from playoffs and can already put their opening defeat to Liquid behind them. If they keep getting this kind of CT-side contribution from PR, they will like their chances of finishing the Swiss stage strongly and turning the tournament around.
